The Diagnosis: Spread to Lungs, Brain and Neck
The wife speaks. In November 1983 my husband had surgery for thyroid cancer. In 1992 it was confirmed the cancer had spread to his lungs, brain and neck.
Surgery could not remove the cancer cells as both lungs were affected. The doctor said he would live only three or four more years.
A Hard Course
From 1995 he regained a little energy but lost his voice that winter. In February 1996 blood was found in his phlegm and he was hospitalized. I kept thinking how else I could help him.
