A check-up in April 1995 confirmed stage 2 lung cancer. The doctor said I needed surgery immediately or I would not live more than 5 years. The news came so suddenly my family could not accept it. I was hospitalized and operated on in May. Part of the left lung was removed, but the cancer could not be completely taken out, so the doctor advised chemotherapy to prevent spread.
