In April 1997 I felt tired and had symptoms of a fever. I thought it was an ordinary cold that would go away after a short rest. However, two or three months passed and I still had not recovered. Soon I felt that a lymph gland was swollen. I was so frightened that I hurried to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor gave me alarming news: what I had was nasal cancer, and it had spread to the lung and the liver. He probably felt he had to tell me, so he informed me that the cancer was at its final stage. Since it had metastasised to the lung and liver, I thought I had very little life left.
Despite how shocked I was, I still found the strength not to fall apart. I diligently underwent chemotherapy and radiation as the doctor instructed. The radiation was six sessions and the chemotherapy seven, both once a month. Their effects were not satisfactory. The doctor secretly told my wife that I had only about three months left to live, since the cancer had progressed to its terminal stage. They did not reveal this to me until later. During this period it was my wife who suffered the most, as the disease flared up and subsided by turns.
After I realised my true situation, a friend asked me whether I had heard of Tian Xian Liquid. Since I had no idea what he was talking about, I asked the doctor about it. He took a very cynical stance, questioning the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine. He even added that if I did not trust the professionalism of the hospital that was helping me, it would be better for me to leave. After those words I changed doctors — not because I doubted his expertise, but because of his lack of basic humanity.
From then on, I kept my opinions to myself. After many radiation and chemotherapy treatments, I did not suffer any of the side effects that were supposed to appear. Even my new doctor was surprised by this. He immediately asked whether I was taking any other kind of medicine. Although I did not deny it, I felt it was unnecessary to give him the details. The doctor sensed that I did not want to share the information and did not press the matter. Three years have passed since the first doctor’s prediction. To this day, I am still working at my usual job.
The regular check-ups I have once a month show an increase in white blood cells and a reduction of the lymphatic tumour. I believe I have chosen the right treatment. The doctor warned me that even though the tumour has shrunk, it is safer to continue with chemical treatment. However, I did not want to suffer any more, so I refused.
These days, both my physical and my mental state have improved; my condition is better now. Although the cancer is at the same stage as before, I believe it will not grow or spread and that I will keep feeling better. In the end my wife confessed the doctor’s original prediction to me, and the two of us laughed about it. I still have a good quality of daily life and can do simple work. I have scaled back my daily activities and feel my spirit growing stronger. I believe all of this is thanks to Tian Xian Liquid.
